Partnering with Estate Guru

We’ve teamed up with Estate Guru to provide an affordable and thorough way to set up a will or trust. This collaboration ensures that your last wishes are met, safeguarding your loved ones’ future and maintaining harmony. With over 30 years of experience, Estate Guru’s online platform embeds the attorney into the process without traditional attorney fees, making it an easy way to get legally sound documents for your estate plan.

What is a trust?

A trust is like a secure vault for your prized assets and intentions. It’s a legal framework that ensures your belongings, from family heirlooms to education funds, are managed as you wish. Beyond safeguarding assets, trusts maintain family harmony by clearly defining asset distribution, preventing potential disputes. Essentially, a trust is a blueprint to protect your wishes and strengthen family ties. It also has the advantage of avoiding probate court and potentially reducing estate taxes, as it provides instructions on what to do with your estate as if you were still alive.

What is a will?

A will is like a map for your assets, showing who gets what after you’ve passed away. It’s a clear legal document that lays out how your belongings and money should be shared. If you have special wishes, you can include them. Without a will, the courts might have to guess your intentions, which can take time and lead to unexpected results. So, it’s essential to have a will to make sure things go as you plan unless you have a trust.

Good to know: A will still needs to go through probate before assets can be disbursed.

Your options:

Revocable Living Trust: A plan enabling a trustee manager to distribute your assets to your beneficiaries, helping to avoid probate and reduce estate taxes. The cost for a trust is $699.

For a limited time, SBLI customers can use the code TRUST100OFF to receive a $100 discount off their trust.

Last Will and Testament: A clear legal document detailing how your estate should be managed and shared after your passing. The cost for a will is $175. Additional wills, including one for your spouse, may be purchased for $175 as well.

For a limited time, SBLI customers can use the code WILL50OFF to receive a $50 discount off their will.

Included in Every Plan (trust or will):
  • Financial power of attorney
  • Healthcare power of attorney

How does this work:

Estate Guru’s online portal simplifies the journey. The process starts by asking you initial questions to determine which document might be a good fit for your estate planning needs, including whether a revocable living trust or will might suit you better. Next, answering additional questions will help generate the documents. The entire process takes about 20 minutes.

To properly prepare documents to meet your needs, Estate Guru needs permission to access your account. Next, the platform will generate a series of questions to provide the tools and resources you need to self-create your will, trust, power of attorney, or advance directive. This application will be able to store documents on your behalf and retrieve information about your profile.
